eCom Elites Review: Complete Franklin Hatchett’s Course Review

I joined Franklin Hatchett’s course (eCom Elites) late last year but never got to go through it until the first few months of 2019. With that said, it’s been a few months since I started my online store following the strategies laid out on the course and I’m now confident to provide a review.

If you have been on various Facebook groups, eCom Elites is rated as one of the best dropshipping courses on the market. In this eCom Elites review, I’ll let you know the ins and outs of the course, and whether it’s worth what is said about it.

Before writing this review, I hopped online to see what other people’s experience was with the course. Unfortunately, like is typical of most online courses, I just came across signs that had copy/pasted the course’s sales page.

If you are in the same position I was in, this review is what you need. I get you through the ins-and-outs of the course to help you decide for yourself whether the course is worth it.

eCom Elites Review: Background

Before I joined eCom Elites, I’d looked at various dropshipping courses. My background is in Amazon affiliate marketing but I wanted to try a hand into ecommerce. I found different courses such as Passion 2 Passion Accelerator and Drop Ship Lifestyle, which were more than $1000. Holy cow! You see, I know I need to invest some money to learn, but in this era of free information online, I don’t think there is an online course that is worth $1000 or more.

When I was researching about eCom Elites, I was surprised that it was only $197. Now, this is something I could pay and not end up regretting in case the information was just regurgitated.

But of course, the savvy me went on to find out about Franklin Hatchett. To be honest, I hadn’t heard of Franklin before 2017. When I was lurking on Blackhat World, I came across a post that was speaking about “Franklin’s Hatchett’s Aliexpress method”.

I read the case study and I was impressed. I googled “Franklin Hatchett” and found his blog and YouTube Channel where he posts lots of free valuable information.

I went through the videos on his YouTube channel and I could tell he really knows his stuff. You should check out his YouTube videos and if you like what you see, then sign up for his courses.

Signing up for eCom Elites

Franklin Hatchett’s eCom Elites is sold through the Zaxxa platform which allows you to pay through either PayPal or Stripe. I love courses that are sold through PayPal because it is easy to get a refund in case the course turns out to be bogus. With Stripe, getting a refund is nearly impossible.

My Login details were dispatched in about 15 minutes.

When you log into the course, you will see the Welcome video which basically takes you through who the course works.

On the left-hand side are the number of modules available in the course, with some expanding out. I was a novice at Facebook ads so I was glad to see there are over 30 videos on Facebook alone!

So, with eCom Elites, you are not just getting a dropshipping course, but also a Facebook ads course rolled into it. You will easily get more value from Franklin’s Facebook courses than most guru courses that cost $500+

The course videos are embedded on Vimeo, which allows you to choose the quality that you would like to view them on. If you have a slow internet connection, you can view the videos at 360P. If your connection is stable, you can view them in HD mode. I found even the low-quality videos to look great both on PC and mobile phone.

One thing I noticed is that you cannot download the videos for offline viewing. This means you will need to be connected online to view the videos. The inability to download the videos was somehow a turn down for me.

But come to think of it, it’s actually a good thing. I’ve been collecting courses over the years that have been sitting idle on my hard drive. With the eCom Elites, I found myself having to sit down and watch the videos, which actually helped me to get started on my dropshipping journey and find success. I guess Franklin really has dialled down on how to successfully sell online courses and get students to take action.

 eCom Elites Modules

Let’s check what is available in eCom Elites.

Module 1: Sourcing Products

One of the challenges of dropshipping is finding winning products. This, together with Facebook advertising, is what made me sign up for eCom Elites. The course has over 2 hours of video on how to select the right niches and products.

The course eliminates the guesswork of finding winning products. The strategy taught is simple and it works. In the past, I was relying on Google trends or copying other stores. Now, I just find winning products by following the simple strategy taught in the course.

In this module, there is also bonus content includes As Seen On TV niche research, Franklin’s 6 Figure Product (he actually shows you the products that have made him 6 figures), print on demand, and niche research software.

Module 2: Setting Up Shopify

My background in web design means that I already knew how to set up a Shopify store. Moreover, I have switched from using Shopify to Woo Commerce for my online stores.

Still, I found this module great for beginners. Frank does not ramble around setting up Dropfied and Oberlo, as some courses do. In fact, setting these two apps is simple and straightforward.

In this module, you will learn how to set up high converting Shopify stores. Perhaps the biggest plus is you will also get the eCom Turbo theme, which is arguably the best Shopify theme on the market when it comes to making visitors convert.

There are 14 videos in this module, with the last one focusing on how to create Shopify funnels.

Module 3 & 4: Facebook Ads

This was the module that I was most interested in. I have gone through many Facebook courses in the past and I used to wonder why most of my campaigns were not turning out to be profitable. Frank’s Facebook Ads modules in eCom Elites changed everything.

The section has everything for beginners and advanced Facebook ads users. If you are an advanced user, you may want to skip the first few videos.

In total, there are 43 videos on Facebook training that take you step-by-step on how to create campaigns. I also loved the bonus videos on doing advanced targeting for your Shopify store, e.g. during birthdays. Finally, you should also check out Franklin’s 100k blueprint. This video inspired me and showed me how to create and scale ecommerce ads that convert.

The Facebook Ads module is really comprehensive. You will learn everything from setting up a business ad account, installing pixels, creating different types of ads, conversions, data mining, manual and automatic bidding, scaling lookalike audiences, and more.

Module 5: Instagram Traffic

Do you know the easiest way to make a sale on your Shopify store isn’t through Facebook ads but Instagram marketing? I was pleasantly surprised when I learned this fact in this module.

The Instagram module goes into setting up Instagram, finding influencers, determining whether the influencers are suitable for your campaigns, deciding how much to pay the influencers, and more.

The videos in this section as not as long as those on the Facebook Ads section but are the ones that will help you get your first sale. Many people are making sales through influencer marketing by using the strategies that Franklin has taught:

Module 6: Organic Google Traffic

Most of the drop shipping courses currently available focus on either paid or organic traffic. With eCom Elites, you get the best of both worlds.

Franklin touches the basics of getting traffic from Google organic search. I quickly skimmed through these lessons since I have a background in SEO. However, if you are a beginner in SEO, I would recommend watching this section. The module covers the basics of on-page SEO as well as where to buy PBN backlinks.

Franklin recommends a number of vendors that are found on Konker, especially this user and this one. However, I have been buying my PBN links from RankHeat and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

If you have your preferred PBN vendor, then you can go ahead and use them.

Module 7: Email Marketing

In this module, you will learn how to set up a GetResponse campaign, how to set up autoresponders to automatically email potential leads or customers to prevent cart abandonment, and so on.

I have experience in email marketing but I have to admit that the strategies Frank shared were new to me. In particular, the tricks on how to do Facebook messenger retargeting was one that I had not thought of.

As a caveat, Franklin recommends using GetResponse, but you can use any email marketing software you may prefer. For my case, I am using the paid option of MailerLite and my campaigns are doing just fine. You can sign up for a free MailerLite unlimited account for 1000 subscribers here.

This section has 12 videos and ends up with 2 bonus videos on how to analyze and read your data further and how to use coupons to win back customers.

Module 8: Business & Sales

If you’ve taken any online marketing course before, you’ve probably seen the modules where the instructors talk about mindset. I hate these modules as, come on, you know I want to be successful so telling me I need to just “believe” is not what I want.

Thankfully, the Business & Sales module in eCom Elites is not about that mindset regurgitated information. Instead, it’s about how to scale your business sales quickly, having a business goal, and using a virtual assistant.

This module has 4 videos that will help you know how to run your online store as a business.

Module 9: Top Secret Videos

This section is one that I know you will love. Here, your journey to success in building a dropshipping store will be shortened. Here is a sneak peek of some of the topics covered in this module:

• How to use YouTube to spy on profitable niches
• Facebook Ninja Spaying
• How to build huge email lists and fan pages
• Using review websites to leverage sales
• Crafty coupon tricks that bring sales
• How to crush it with warranties

Module 10: Weekly Videos /Update Videos

This is a regularly updated section where Franklin posts videos based on his students’ feedback. The videos range from anything from updated Facebook ads to profiting through email. At the time of writing, there are videos on using the Facebook insight tool, manual bidding strategies, and Affinity.

The weekly videos include 6 Q&A sessions that are about an hour long. I loved the video on how to flip your store on Flippa.

Ecom Elite Pricing

Ecom Elite is available in two pricing levels; $197 and $297. I got the course when it was originally at $197. This is what’s available above. However, in 2019, Franklin has been making huge updates inside the course for those that are a little advanced. In particular, he’s been concentrating on making tutorials on how to build ecom funnels. This is what the $297 option mainly covers.

Private Facebook Mastermind Group

One thing that I have not mentioned is that when you purchase eCom Elites, you get access to a private Facebook mastermind group where Franklin and other members can help you in your journey to creating a dropshipping store.

The group is very active and members post tons of strategies you will not find anywhere else or in other courses.

The only biggie I have with eCom Elite is that it is not sold together with the eCom Turbo theme, which is one of the highest converting Shopify themes. Still, there are a few alternative themes that will work just well for your store.

eCom Elites Discount

As always, I was searching for a discount before I bought the eCom Elites course. I found some review websites advertising discounts or cashbacks. However, the truth is that there are no discounts or cashbacks. I even reach out to Franklin himself to request for a discount and this is what he said:
